Choosing your partner
Marriage is not just for a few days. It is for a life-time. In order to have harmony in a marriage, one must make a good choice regarding the partner that one will have to live day and night. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) has advised us to consider the aspect of Deen when choosing our partner because when a person has Deen in the true sense of the word, he will know how to live with the next person. While living with the next person, we must respect his rights. Deen teaches a person to respect the rights of the next person. Therefore, a Deendaar, in the true sense of the word, will be a good partner because he will respect the rights of the next person. That is why Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) has recommended giving priority to Deen before considering other criteria.
