Salaat-ul-A'sr

"The one, who has missed the Salaah of A'sr, is as if he has lost his family and wealth." (Tirmizi)

In this world, a person has the support of his family which is a source of joy, contentment and moral support. A person who does not have a family is an unfortunate and a miserable person.

If a person does not have a family, perhaps he may compensate for this lacking to a certain extent and in some way through his wealth. Nonetheless, if a person does not have that also, it means that he is really unfortunate. A person can experience this state when he is in a foreign country or in a place where his family is not present; he does not know anyone and does not have any money with him. He alone knows his difficulty. And the matter is worse if he is in a place where no one cares for no one. Everyone cares for himself only. According to Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), a person, who neglects the Salaah of A'sr, will suffer misery and difficulty just like that person. That is, a person who neglects the Salaah of A'sr will suffer just like a person suffers due to losing his family and wealth.

Through this, we can understand that if Allah Ta’ala makes a person who neglected the Salaah of A'sr, suffer such, then it is not surprising if Allah Ta’ala renders a person all the more fortunate regarding his family and wealth if he is regular in performing the Salaah of A'sr. Similarly, it can be deduced that a person who is punctual and regular in performing the Salaah of A'sr, Allah Ta’ala gives him joy, cheerfulness and well-being as if he is surrounded by his family and wealth. This gives us an idea of how fortunate a person can become by performing all the 5 Salaah regularly and the amount of misfortune that there is in neglecting Salaah. In short, there is no tranquillity in neglecting Salaah.
