COVERING THE HEAD

To perform Salah without covering the head is not a proper way of performing Salah. Similarly, to perform Salah in a T-shirt or short-sleeved shirt is not an appropriate attire. The Qur’an-e-Kareem has used the formula "Zeenat" instead of "Libaas" (clothing) where Allah Ta’ala has commanded to dress at the time of every Salah. Zeenat signifies beauty.

PASSING IN FRONT OF A PERSON WHO IS PERFORMING SALAH

Question:- Is it permissible to pass in front of a person who is performing Salah?

Till where is it Sunnah to raise the hands in Takbeer Tahreema?

  1. Hazrat Waa'il bin Hujr (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that he saw Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) raised both hands when he had begun Salah: he said Allahu Akbar and raised his hands up to his ears. (Muslim)

  2. Hazrat Malik Ibnul Huwayrice (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that when Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) use to say Allahu Akbar, he used to raise both hands until they are in line with his two ears. (Muslim)

Salah and a good Muslim

A good Muslim must practice his five times Salah daily. As far as possible, he must perform it in a Masjid with Jamaat. It is a great shortcoming to neglect performing Salah with Jamaat without a valid reason as this symbolises turning the back against the Mubarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). If ever, a person could not perform it in the Masjid, he must not neglect it. He must perform it wherever he gets the opportunity to perform it. He must be punctual in his Salah. Without a valid reason, he must not delay his Salah.

Where is it Sunnah to tie the hands in Salah?

Hazrat Waa'il bin Hujr (Radiyallahu Anhu) said: "I saw Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) placing his right hand on his left hand below the navel in Salah." (Ibn Abu Shaibah) - [This Hadith is Saheeh (Authentic)].

PERFORMING SALAH AT THE TIME OF ZENITH

According to a Hadith found in Saheeh Muslim, reported by Hazrat 'Uqbah Bin 'Amir (Radiyallahu Anhu), Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) has prohibited the performance of Salah at three hours:

  1. At sunrise until the sun rises.

  2. At zenith until the sun declines.

  3. At sunset until the sun sets.

Reciting Bismillah softly after Sana

Hazrat Anas (Radiyallahu Anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu) and Hazrat 'Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) used to start Salah by Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'aalamin. (Bukhari)

This means that these three people did not recite Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahim aloud.
