Daily Salaah

What should be read after Takbeer-Tahreemah (when starting Salah)?

Hazrat 'Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) narrated that when Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) use to begin Salah, he used to recite:

سُبْحَانَكَ اللّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالى جَدُّكَ وَلآ اِلهَ غَيْرُكَ

(Soubhaanakal-laahoum-ma wabihamdika watabaarakasmouka waTa’ala jad-douka walaa ilaaha ghayrouk) (Tirmizi, Abu Dawoud and Ibn Majah)

Salaat-ul-A'sr

"The one, who has missed the Salaah of A'sr, is as if he has lost his family and wealth." (Tirmizi)

In this world, a person has the support of his family which is a source of joy, contentment and moral support. A person who does not have a family is an unfortunate and a miserable person.

Punishment for neglecting Salah

  1. "The one, who neglects Salah, is as if he has committed Kufr." (Abu Dawud)

  2. "Salah is the barrier between Imaan and Kufr.” (Muslim/ Ahmad)

  3. "The one, who neglects Salah knowingly, will be deprived of the protection of Allah Ta’ala.” (Musnad Ahmad)

Performing Salah with contentment

We must not rush while performing Salah. We must accomplish all postures in Salah with contentment. In Ruk’u, we must allow all the joints of the body to settle before raising the head. Similarly, while rising from Ruk’u', we should stand up straight. Many people go into Sajdah before standing up straight. It is a mistake and a big shortcoming. When performing Sajdah, one must allow all the joints of the body to settle in its place before raising the head.

Explanation on the practice of moving the index continuously in Tashahhud

(عن عبد الله بن الزبير ان النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يشير باصبعه اذا دعا ولا يحركها"(النسائى/ ابو داؤد”

Translation:

(Hazrat) Abdullah Bin Az-Zubair (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) was making a sign with his finger while making Dua and he was not moving it." (Nisai /Abu Dawud)

...especially the Fajr Salaah

Anyone with good reasoning loves cleanliness and to keep himself clean. One takes a bath morning and evening. One brushes one's teeth so as to remove any bad odour from the mouth. One dresses elegantly to look nice and appealing. One's clothes are clean. One's body is clean. All this is very good but it is not enough. There are more things to do if one really wants to keep oneself clean.

Covering the head in Salaah

It is Makruh to perform Salaah without covering the head. It is Makruh to leave it out due to negligence or lack of will or laziness. But if someone neglects it out of contempt or disdain, then it is very serious because according to the 'Ulama, this attitude represents Kufr. By this, a person comes out of the fold of Islam. One must be very careful. One should not make fun of any principle of Deen or Sunnah or practice of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).
