Life after death

When a child fills his stomach with all types of junk, he cannot eat what he should. When delicious foods are served to him also, he does not have any desire for it. And if he is forced to eat, he may vomit it.

Similarly, when a person fills his heart and mind with poisons such as pride, jealousy, etc., he dislikes good things. Allah Ta’ala said:

"As for those in whose hearts there is a disease, it (the revelation of a Surah) adds impurity upon their impurity (which they already had before)." (S 9: V 125)

That is why it is very important for a person to take the necessary measures to purify his interior from evil behaviours and undesirable characters. Otherwise, these will prevent him from taking benefit and enjoying the good words of Deen. Belief in life after death which is called "Imaan in Aakhirah" is something that can create the willpower within us to cleanse ourselves, bring us towards Deen and make us remain in the obedience of Allah Ta’ala.

The extent of sincerity in Deen depends on the degree of conviction and belief that a person has in life after death. That is why it is very important to develop this belief.
