Performing Salaah behind an Imam who shortens the beard

Question:

Fiqh - Salaah

Is it permissible to perform Salaah behind an Imam who shortens the beard?

Answer:

It is not permissible to shorten the beard less than the length of a fist. Such a person is not worthy to be an Imam. It is also not permissible to perform Salaah behind such an Imam. Salaah must be performed in another Masjid in the vicinity. Otherwise, efforts should be done to change this Imam without causing any corruption. If this is not possible, then Salaah may be performed behind him just in order not to miss Salaah with Jama’ah. Nonetheless, it should be noted that this Imam is committing a sin if he continues to shorten his beard.
