AN INTELLIGENT PERSON?

A person, who burns a candle worth one or two rupees to look for a coin of fifty cents that was lost, cannot be a person of great intelligence. Leave alone money, he has wasted his precious time also. At the end of the day, what did he get? Fifty cents that represents nothing at all and does not even cover the cost of what he has spent.

When we hear this, we should not laugh too loud as there are other examples that may make us laugh even more. If we have intelligence, we will not laugh! We will cry as we are blackening our Aakhirah for the sake of a Dunya that is not worth anything at all in front of Aakhirah. For the sake of a small building in Dunya, we are losing big castles in Jannah. This is as if we are losing and neglecting our house where we have to stay forever, for the sake of a small insignificant tent on the beach where we will stay for a few days only. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that the Dunya is like a shadow which is in continual decline.

An intelligent person is a person who gives a small thing of little value to acquire something of great value. Life in Dunya is temporary. And life in Aakhirah is everlasting. A person, who is truly intelligent, will not hesitate to sacrifice this temporary life in order to succeed in the eternal life. A true Muslim must be intelligent in this aspect.
