Preserving our language
"The tongue has no bones." Often, one hears people say this. This signifies that it moves freely just uttering anything. At times, it speaks good words and at times, it utters useless talk or a statement which is the cause of his misfortune.
That is why the Shariah has put a lot of emphasis on preserving the tongue.
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
"The one, who has Imaan in Allah and the last day, should speak good words or keep quiet."
That is why one must think well before speaking. Statements such as falsehood, deceiving or accusing, Gheebat, etc., have a very grave consequence. Most of all, criticising the Ulama and the pious people is even graver and this must be avoided at all costs as the person who has uttered such words will be the greatest loser. When we preserve our tongue, we will progress a lot with the little good deeds that we do. On the other hand, when we allow our tongue to utter any statement, then a lot of good deeds also become useless. So, what is the benefit of uttering useless talks?
