Supremacy

The supremacy of human lies in his humility just as his lowliness lies in his pride. A person, who is wise and intelligent, cannot be proud. In general, it is the foolish ones, who have arrogance and pride. Humility, that gives man his true dimension, is a humility that he shows for the pleasure of his Creator.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

"The one who humbles himself for the pleasure of Allah, Allah Ta’ala will honour him ..." (Muslim, Tirmizi and Ahmad)

Therefore, the supremacy of man lies in his humility for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. The best way to humble oneself is in Sajdah whereby a person places his head, forehead and nose, the superior parts of his body, on the ground in order to humble himself in front of the inestimable greatness of his Rabb. It is in this position that man is closest to his Rabb. This is where he sees his true value. This is his Mi'raaj. It is perhaps in this sense that it is said that Salah is the Mi'raaj of a Muslim.

Therefore, real greatness and supremacy do not lie in becoming this and that. It lies in becoming solely for Allah Ta’ala. And the one who has become for Allah Ta’ala, Allah becomes his. Who can harm the one whom Allah is in his favour?
