REGRET OF THE MADNESS OF YOUTH

I have a great regret in my life. I would not want the same thing to happen to you. I feel that I have wasted my time, energy and courage in futile and useless things. While I was absorbed in the madness of my youth, I did not realise that there is also a stage of old age where at times, one becomes a burden to even those whom one has given everything of oneself.

I do not want to see you in such a situation where you can do nothing besides having an irreparable regret. You are still young. You have plenty of time. You have courage. You have energy. Use them in things that will benefit you. Do not waste your time trying to please others. There is only one way whereby you may render your life useful and valuable. Till now, you have been living a life of slavery. Hence, become for Allah Ta’ala. You will definitely not lose. You will always be fortunate.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "There are two blessings which many people forfeit: health and free time."

Very rarely, people have both of them and benefit from them as they should. If one has one of them, one does not have the other one. And if one has both, then it is a great favour of Allah that one should know how to benefit from.

Do not let time be wasted.

Do not waste your energy.

Benefit from what you have today.

As there is no guarantee for tomorrow.
