Contact with the Ulama

To keep in contact with the Ulama permanently is like a leaf on a tree. As long as the leaf is on the tree, it is green, fresh and beautiful. This guarantees its existence. When it breaks ties with the tree, it falls off, becomes yellow or withers and is to be thrown in the dustbin. As for the tree, it blossoms and becomes more beautiful than before. Similarly, when a person breaks ties with an ‘Aalim and turns his back on him, he exposes himself to all types of nuisances and spiritual difficulties. As for the ’Aalim in question, although he is temporarily affected, he eventually overcomes it and becomes more lush than before. Is it not due to this that it is said that to have enmity for the Ulama is cancerous?
