Ladies Itikaaf in the Masjid

Assallamou Alaikoum,

Should a woman perform Itikaaf in the Masjid or at home? Did the wives of the Prophet (S.A.W) perform Itikaaf? If so, was it in their homes or the Masjid?

Dans plusieurs jamaat khana faire i’tikaaf dans Ramadhan en pensant ki sa sounnate i’tikaaf la pe être accompli. D’après mazhab hanafi Eski sounnate i’tikaaf capave faire dans ene mousalla ou jamaat khana ki faire 5 fois Namaz par jour et Jumuah en jamaat?

I would be most grateful for your guidance. Is it ok to do ihtikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan in a masjid where Friday Kutba is in creole and where 8 rakaat tarawih are performed.
