Hazrat Ahnaf Bin Qais (Rahmatullahi alayh)

While burying Hazrat Ahnaf Bin Qais (Rahmatullahi alayh), the toppee of a person fell in the Qabr. Thus, that person bent down to pick up his toppee. On bending down, he saw that the Qabr was enlarged upto where his gaze could reach. (Al-Furqan by Allamah Bin Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi alayh))

Aisha Bint Abu A'sim

According to the Siyar A'lam An-Nubala of Allaamah Az-Zahabi (passed away in 748 H), Aisha Bint A'sim was a very pious woman. She remained without food or drink for more than 20 years. Allaamah Az-Zahabi says that he heard that from several people who lived in the epoch of this woman. Really shocking! But when Allah Ta'ala wants, anything can happen. Similarly, there was another woman at the time of Al-Mu'tadwid who remained without food or drink for more than 20 years. Eating and drinking is a means to survive. But this means is a secondary means.

HIJRAH

Hijrah refers to the migration of the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) from Makkah to Madinah in order to preserve their Imaan and their Deen. At that time, it was very essential. It was a demarcation line between the sincere and the insincere ones. Whoever refused to migrate without any valid reason, was not considered as a sincere Muslim.

Mannat or Nazr

Mannat or Nazr or vow which people would make when they want to acquire something, must be done solely in the name of Allah Ta'ala. This is because Mannat is an Ibaadah and it is not permissible to perform an Ibaadah for someone else besides Allah Ta'ala.

How to make a Mannat?

The state of mind of the Sahabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum)

The Sahabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) sacrificed themselves for Deen. The main thing was Aakhirah for them. They understood very well that this Dunya is temporary. That is why they were ready to sacrifice anything for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala.

The value of Imaan

Hercules had made an offer to Hazrat Abdullah Bin Huzafah (Radiyallahu Anhu) to make him his partner in his kingdom on condition that he becomes a Christian. But Hazrat Abdullah Bin Huzafah (Radiyallahu Anhu) rejected this offer downright. He said that: if you give me everything that you possess and all that which the Arabs possess just so that I renounce the Deen, for the blink of an eye also, then too, I will not do that. On this, Hercules threatened to kill him. But he did not give in.

Firmness on Deen

When Hazrat Sa'd Bin Abu Waqqaas (Radiyallahu Anhu) had embraced Islam, his mother was very displeased to the extent that she had threatened to abstain from food and drink as long as he does not renounce Islam. But Hazrat Sa'd Bin Abu Waqqaas (Radiyallahu Anhu) did not give in. On the contrary, he informed his mother that if she had 100 lives and she sacrificed all the 100 lives, then also, he would not give up that Deen.
