Janaazah

Shaheed

A person, who dies on the battlefield while defending Islam, is a Shaheed according to the Shari’ah. There is no Ghusl for such a person. One should merely perform his Janazah Salaah without giving him Ghusl. Besides this, there are other types of Shaheed whose Ghusl must be performed before performing the Janazah Salaah. For example, a person or the family of this person has been attacked by an enemy. By defending his life or the life of his family, he passed away. He is also a Shaheed.

Alive in Qabr

Our beloved Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) is alive in his Qabr. Hazrat Anas (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: 

"The Prophets are alive in their Qabr ..." 

It is a Hadith which is reported by Al Baihaqui, Allaamah As-Subki and Abu Ya'la and it is an authentic Hadith.

Janazah Salaah in Masjid?

Hazrat Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) had asked the Sahabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) to bring the Janazah of Hazrat Sa'd Bin Abu Waqqaas (Radiyallahu Anhu) into the Masjid so that she also can participate in his Janazah Salah from her house which is adjacent to the Masjid. The Sahabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) were shocked by this request. But Hazrat Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) replied that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) had once performed the Janazah Salah of Hazrat Suhail Bin Al Baidwah (Radiyallahu Anhu) in the Masjid.

Namaz Janaaza in the Masjid

It is undesirable to perform the Salaah of Janaaza inside the Masjid. According to a Hadith narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radiyallaahu Anhu), Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: 

"Whoever performs the Salaah of Janaaza in the Masjid gets nothing". (Abu Daawud)

Worldly attachment

One must not make concession in Deen because of Dunya which will not exist forever. Dunya and whatever it contains are temporary. If we give whatever we have to get Dunya, at most we will get very little of what this Dunya contains and that also only for a very short time. And we will have to leave this little here before going in our Qabr.

Da'wah in the house of a Mayyat

It is Makruh (a detestable practice) for the family of the Mayyat to give Da'wah (an invitation) to eat because this (providing a meal) is done for happy occasions and not in time of misfortune. And this is a reprehensible Bid'ah (innovation).
