Performing Sajdah Tilaawat after Salat-ul-Fajr and Salat-ul-A'ssr

Question:

Is it permissible to perform Sajdah Tilaawat after Salat-ul-Fajr and Salat-ul-A'ssr?

Answer:

First of all, we must know that it is not permissible to perform any Nafl Salaah during these 5 times:

Sajdah Tilaawat

Sajdah Tilaawat is a Sajdah that becomes obligatory upon reciting certain verses of the Qur’an-e-Kareem. There are 14 places in the Qur’an-e-Kareem where it is obligatory to perform Sajdah when the Ayat is recited. Just like Sajdah Tilaawat becomes obligatory when one recites it, similarly it becomes obligatory upon hearing it from a person who is reciting it. Sajdah Tilaawat is obligatory on a person on whom Salah is obligatory.

SAJDAH TILAWAT

It is a Sajdah that becomes Waajib upon recitation of certain verses of the Qur'aan. There are 14 such instances in the Qur'aan. Each verse requires only one Sajdah. The recommended way is to stand up, say Allahu Akbar and go in Sajdah. After Sajdah, say Allahu Akbar again and stand up. If a person does it while sitting, it is also permissible.

Sajdah Tilaawat at the time of sunrise or sunset

Question:

Is it permissible to perform Sajdah Tilaawat at the time of sunrise or sunset?

Reply:

If the recitation of a verse that contains Sajdah Tilaawat coincided with sunrise or sunset, then in this case, one can perform Sajdah Tilaawat. But it is better to do it later. As for Sajdah Tilaawat that became Wajib outside these two times, it cannot be performed in these two times. Likewise, one cannot perform it at the time of Istiwa.
