Statement of Imam Shafi’i (Rahmatullahi Alaiyh) about not making Taqleed

Very often, people present the statement of Imam Shafi’i (Rahmatullahi Alaiyh) as a proof to prohibit the following of an Imam in order to practice Deen. According to their statement, Imam Shafi’i (Rahmatullahi Alaiyh) has said that if a Hadith goes against his statement, then that Hadith must be taken into consideration and his statement must be ignored. 

Stealing titles

We have always heard about stealing fortune, goods, jewellery, money, etc. However, we are now hearing about people stealing titles also. Nowadays people want to steal the title of Taabi'i from Imam Abu Hanifah (Rahmatullahi 'alayh). Yet, according to a considerable amount of scholars of Hadith, Imam Abu Hanifah (Rahmatullahi 'alayh) had the honour of seeing the Sahaabi Hazrat Anas (Radiyallahu Anhu). Some even said that he related Hadith from certain Sahaabi. For a Muslim to become a Taabi'i, it suffices to meet a Sahaabi in the state of Imaan.

VICIOUS CIRCLE

You do not believe Taqleed because according to you it is not permissible to practice Taqleed. However, do you realise that it is due to practicing Taqleed of a person that you say that it is not allowed to practice Taqleed! This is because the little knowledge that you have, does not allow you to say that it is not permissible to practice Taqleed without making Taqleed of someone. Finally, you could not hold yourself from making Taqleed of a person by saying that it is not permissible to practice Taqleed.

Piracy in Deen

Prohibiting people from following one of these 4 Mazhab is a kind of piracy that diverts the 'Ummah from its true destination to finally destroy it and expose it to anarchy. It is a way to make people forsake their Deen under the cover of Deen. All the deviationist elements that are operating nowadays to divert the Ummah from Deen are connected directly or indirectly to the movement that prevents following one of these 4 Mazhab. Thus, it is a big fraud towards Deen.

Follow blindly...

The path of Hidayah (guidance) according to scholars and jurists lies in practicing Deen by following one of these 4 Mazhab. This is called practicing Deen by following one who is more practicing and who knows Deen better.

Taqleed of the 4 Mazhab

According to Allaamah Shah Waliyullah Dehlavi (Rahmatullahi alayh), the whole 'Ummah made Ijma, that is, they all agree that it is permissible to follow the 4 Mazhab that have been compiled with all details in order to answer to all the questions of life. To follow these Mazhab is following As-Sawaad-ul-A'zam (the vast majority) that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) has commanded to follow.

From heart to heart

I know that you have just entered the phase called youth. As for me, I know that I did not manage my time properly. Today, when I want to do what I have missed in my youth, I see that either I do not have time or my health does not allow me. My youngsters! I do not want that what has happened to me, to happen to you. You must know how to manage your time and courage because you will not get it again.
