Akhlaaq-Tasawwuf

Human glory

To be engaged in the Ibaadah of Allah Ta’ala with all humility, is the glory and the greatest human fortune. Why must we run behind miracles, grandeur and popularity that have destroyed many in the past!

[English version of "Gloire humaine" – Al Jamiat – Vol.3 No.7]

Do not be upset...

Insaan is selfish. He likes to oppress. He keeps what is his and he likes to take whatever is yours. And when he takes, he takes it greedily. However, Allah Ta’ala takes one and He gives you ten. He puts you in a small difficulty to reward you enormously. Try sacrificing this one life that you have, He will grant you the joy that millions and millions of lives also cannot grant you.

The inevitable point

You might not meet everyone in this world. However, something that we all have to meet is death. You do not need to invite it. It comes by itself / without an invitation. It follows you wherever you are. It will meet you even if you conceal yourself in an impenetrable and well-protected fortress surrounded by your gendarmes, soldiers and bodyguards. There is no escape. When it comes, it takes you away while everyone keeps looking.

Love

Love is not meant for the fools, profiteers or the proud. It is something pure and clean that is worthy for only those who are pure, clean, pious and humble. True love is the love for Allah Ta’ala and for our Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). So, true lovers are those who are pure, clean, pious, intelligent and humble and whose hearts are filled with love for Allah Ta’ala and Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). You can test your intelligence and your piety by the love that you have for Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).

Jihad Akbar

Taqwa or obedience to Allah Ta’ala has two aspects. One that concerns executing the commandments and the second that concerns refraining from prohibited things.

Shari’ah and Tareeqat

Shar’iah is the name given to the laws, commandments and practices that are imposed on human being as a whole. This whole includes two categories of commandments:

1. One that we can see people practicing such as Salah, Roza, Zakaat, Hajj, etc. These practices are called اعمال ظاهرة.

2. And one that we cannot see with our eyes such as sincerity, gratitude, etc. This is called اعمال باطنة.

Like or do not like!

One cannot force oneself to like a person or to like something. Similarly, one cannot force oneself to dislike also. It is something that occurs involuntarily in oneself. However, liking something does not mean that we should do it. Similarly, disliking something does not mean that we should neglect it. Allah Ta’ala has given us intelligence to choose between good and bad. Something does not become good by us liking it or desiring it. Similarly, it does not become bad by us disliking it.
