Aqeedah

The Islamic State

A government or a state is not formed by one or two individuals. It is formed by a nation who wants to live according to a certain code or certain legislation. Each nation is free to choose a code, a course of action or a political system. There are some who are of the opinion that vices, immoralities and indecency such as adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, nudity and alcoholic drinks, etc. do not disturb the proper functioning of their system.

Punishing a Murtad is the duty of the State

No one has the right to take the law in his hands. The punishment and sanction that should be taken against a Murtad as well as for crimes such as adultery, theft, etc., lie in the power of the Islamic State. This cannot be executed by individuals.

Riddah (apostasy) - Intolerable betrayal

The Islamic State does not tolerate this greatest betrayal that Riddah (apostasy) represents towards the Supreme Creator in any way. A person who commits this and converts from Islam to another religion, is liable to death penalty in the Islamic state. But, firstly, the Islamic State gives him the opportunity for a few days to repent. If he does not repent and maintains his position, then according to the Islamic law, he must be executed. In a Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

Eternal punishment for Kufr and Riddah (apostasy)

Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’an-e-Kareem:

"Verily those who commit Kufr and die as Kuffaar, the earth full of gold shall never be accepted from any of them if they ever wish to offer it as ransom. For them shall be painful punishment and they shall have no helpers." (S 3: V 91)

Dua to die with Imaan

The eternal salvation and well-being of a person depends on leaving this Dunya with Imaan. That is why the favour that Allah Ta’ala granted us in the form of Imaan, is an inestimable favour. It is the greatest favour. There is no gift that is more precious than this. That is why we should always implore Allah Ta’ala to preserve our Imaan as long as we are alive and make us die on Imaan through His immense and infinite grace:

Apostasy

If ever he renounces Islam after accepting it, he has committed Riddah or Irtidaad which means apostasy. The person who commits it is called a Murtad.

The gravity of Riddah (apostasy)

There is no constraint in Islam

Islam invites people to accept Islam without pressurising them. The system of Jihaad in Islam is not used to force people to accept Islam. This was done to create peace in the entire world because all forms of Kufr are a cause of فساد (disorder / corruption) on earth.
