Akhlaaq-Tasawwuf

A spiritual aesthetic sense

The Sunnah embellishes a practice. Without the Sunnah, a practice has no beauty. A practice becomes beautiful only through the Nur of the Sunnah.

A practice cannot exist without observing the Farz in it but there will be no Nur in it if the Sunnah is neglected.

The Objective

There is no one who lives on earth without having an aim or an objective. Right or wrong, each person must have an objective for each activity or movement of his. Similarly, there must be a purpose for whatever Allah has created. Allah Ta'ala, the Supreme Creator, created the sky. He created the earth. Everything came into existence solely by Allah Ta'ala. It is He who has defined the purpose of human being (Insaan) on earth. The objective of Insaan is Aakhirah - a life that comes after death where everyone will be revived.

In order to get peace...

In life, one has to follow someone. One cannot say that one did not follow anyone in whatever one does. One's style, haircut and appearance, all emanates from imitating someone. Do you not think that you made a big mistake in choosing your 'ideal'? In all fields, people love the best. Are you satisfied with your lifestyle? We will agree that those who we follow and take as our 'ideal' in life do not have Deen in them. It is definitely a big mistake on our side to leave the best in order to content ourselves with that which is not good at all.

Taqwa and Muttaqi

Taqwa is a quality or character that makes a person live according to the Shari'ah. He adapts his whole life according to the commandments of Allah Ta'ala by following the Mubaarak Tareeqah of our beloved Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). The one who inculcates this quality in him on a permanent basis is called a Muttaqi. Such a person is called Deendaar or someone who is firm on Deen. A person who follows Deen has the opportunity to enjoy wellbeing in Dunya also. Allah Ta'ala says in Qur'an-e-Kareem:

Stop making yourself miserable

We cause harm to ourselves when we cause harm to others. It is true that we do not notice its harmful consequences immediately but it is also true that we have to answer for everything that we do. We will not be able to hide anything. We can forget the harm or the wrong that we committed but Allah Ta'ala knows everything and He does not forget anything.

Acknowledging a mistake

Acknowledging a mistake and taking the necessary steps to rectify it is a very noble quality that not everyone is honoured to have. Only dignified and noble people can possess this quality. A person who tries to camouflage his mistake or who makes a lot of excuses to justify his error to save his honour is an unworthy person because this emanates from pride. Dignified and noble people always keep themselves far from this bad character. A person cannot be honest and sincere if he has the quality that made Shaitaan detestable in the eyes of Allah Ta'ala.

Good manners

All subjects and fields that a person is aware of, must have been learned to gain knowledge of it. Likewise, good manners also must be learned to know them. Nobody is born as a scholar. Whatever we become afterwards is the result of our learning.
